Divorce: 133 Ways to Diffuse the Battle – A New Approach by Forrest S. Bayard – This informative booklet includes tips on how to resolve differences in a more amicable manner. It also provides insights into how to select and work with your lawyer, as well as how to work with your spouse throughout the divorce process. In a cover letter sent with the book, Mr. Bayard wrote:

“During a divorce, disappointment and pain come not only from the failed relationship but from unfulfilled expectations and shattered dreams. I believe that this is the source of people's suffering in divorce.

What can make a difference is creating a new plan for the future and being guided by that plan. The problems resulting from divorce could then be resolved in the context of the new plan. Obviously this is ‘easier said then done.’

Einstein said: ‘The world that we have made as the result at the level of thinking we have done thus far creates problems that we cannot solve at the same level we created them at.’ If we replace "world" with - divorce - in Einstein's quote, we would see that people's level of thinking is insufficient to solve the problems they face in divorce. As a result, people turn to professionals to assist them in resolving their divorces. Their desire is usually to justify the past or ‘get what they deserve.’

What's possible in divorce is working into a compelling future distinct from the past. People who resolve their divorces through the possibility of a newly created future can more easily let go of their pasts and be enthusiastic about life. Conversely, people who remain stuck in the past and justify their actions are not enthusiastic and tend to suffer. Children need enthusiastic parents. From a child's point of view, enthusiastic parents committed to moving forward with plans and goals are much better role models than parents committed to getting even, holding on to the past and arguing.

. . . Divorce: 133 Ways to Diffuse the Battle - A New Approach . . . is intended to provide people with the opportunity to resolve past issues in their relationships so that a newly created future becomes possible. Even though the booklet is about divorce, I encourage you to review it if you have concerns in your relationships whether they are personal, business or family.

On the Road to Divorce: A Traveller’s Companion by Marcia Kraus – This booklet provides insights into the financial issues you may need to address during the divorce process. In addition, it outlines the information you will need to know and understand so that you can make informed choices during the divorce process and in the future.

S.P.L.A.S.H.! Practical Principles for Positive Parenting by Dawn Lantero – This booklet provides invaluable insights into effective parenting skills so that children and parents benefit. As the author writes, “In reading this booklet, you will come to understand [the S.P.L.A.S.H. principles] and how they interrelate to form an effective and positive approach to raising your children . . . your interactions will become less about the nagging and negative behavior, and more about enjoying the precious years you get to spend with them.”
